Pädagogische Hochschule Vorarlberg and Secondary Grammarschool Schillerstr. Feldkirch
Pädagogische Hochschule Vorarlberg (PH Vorarlberg) and Secondary Grammar School Schillerstr. Feldkirch (GYS) are co-located in Feldkirch, Austria.
PH Vorarlberg is a teacher training college collaborating with the University Innsbruck and PH Tirol, and so offers an opportunity to work with both in-service and pre-service teachers. GYS is a secondary grammar school educating students from the age of ten (grade 5) to the age of 18 (grade 12). GYS educates students preparing for the final exams offering some special branches focusing on foreign languages, art, music and sciences. Although STEAM is not a formal part of the curriculum, the STEAMTEACH project has worked with five teachers culminating in advanced STEAM projects mainly in lower secondary school classes.

The team consisting of four teachers majoring in Mathematics, Physics, Biology and English, is coordinated by Ms Brigitta Bekesi.

Pädagogische Hochschule Tirol Innsbruck
The Pädagogische Hochschule Tirol school is located in Innsbruck. The middle school is one of the two practical schools of the Tirol University of Education. The practical school training that is possible for students is “anchored in the Higher Education Act and is visible in the model of integrated practical schools of the teacher training colleges”. PH Tirol is a teacher training college and PMS is the associated middle school where preservice teachers experience teaching practice. PMS is in the same building, has mentors to help ongoing teachers and traditionally is open to innovative teaching methods. The school is a lead school in STEAM since September 2022, which is incorporated formally into the curriculum with a number of compulsory lessons timetabled. This means that they have 2 lessons a week where they can focus on STEAM projects.
